HOTEL WORKERS IN SOUTH SUDAN PROTEST






A protest has erupted Western barhrel el Ghazal after one of the staff who was working as a receptionist resigned from one of the prominent hotel in Wau, the staff who refused to mention his name pointed out that the hotel manager has no respect to the staff who work tirelessly day and night in the hotel.

He also explained that most staff working in the hotel are mistreated and their working condition is not favorable while the hotel pays then peanut compared to the work they are doing, he also said that staff of  Sudanese national are sacked without following the right procedure.
H e urged the authority  especial the ministry of labor to implement a policy whereby the worker in any company or institution owned by the foreigners should be treated like other foreign nationals.

foreign investor who come to invest in south Sudan should respect the nationals ans apply reasonable policies to their staff and also they are expected to employee the Sudanese nationals to the key position and train them in capacity building since south Sudan is still growing.

He added by saying  Sudanese national working in foreign hotel and other companies  within south Sudan are being intimidated and discriminated that they are not qualified while they have paper that enable them to fit in higher position, he called the hotel workers association to intervene and deal with the managers around the country who don't respect their workers.

Malakal IDPs Desperately Need Relief Aid

The internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Malakal town desparately need relief assistnace.   March 2014 IDPs at a UNMISS clinic in Malakal. [File]  [Gurtong] - They have expressed disappountnent in the government for its failure to rescue them from the rebels' "atrocities" daily. The IDPs say people are being killed daily when found from their hideouts. IDPs in the United Nations' compound said their colleagues in churches and hiding in their houses risk being killed as the rebels still control Malakal town. Malakal fell into the hands of the Anti-government forces led by the country's ex-vice president Dr. Riek Machar, now turned rebel leader since mid-February after they overan the government forces there. "People are suffering. They have no food and water to drink. The town is looted," an IDP lamented. "So, there is no hope of life for those who are now in Churches and in their hideouts in town.&q
